After the April Fools Buzz in Braselton, Buc-ee’s Really Is Expanding in Georgia |
A new Buc-ee’s is breaking ground in Georgia, and it’s set to be one of the biggest yet. Here’s what’s coming, when it opens, and why locals are excited. |
After last week’s April Fools buzz about Buc-ee’s coming to Braselton (we had you for a minute, didn’t we?), it turns out there is some real beaver news worth talking about this week.
Buc-ee's officially broke ground on a brand-new location in Forsyth, Georgia. This marks its fourth store in the state and another big step in its rapid Southeast expansion.
Located along Rumble Road just off Interstate 75, the new Buc-ee’s is strategically positioned for travelers heading to and from Atlanta, Macon, and beyond and focused on basically anyone who’s ever said, “let’s just make one quick stop,” and meant 45 minutes.
And in true Buc-ee’s fashion, this isn’t just a gas station, it’s a full-blown experience.
The Forsyth location will span an eye-popping 74,000 square feet and feature around 100 fuel pumps, putting it firmly in the category of “you might need a map to find your car again.”
The store will include everything fans have come to expect: Texas barbecue, homemade fudge, fresh pastries, jerky, and the cult-favorite Beaver Nuggets.
If you’ve ever been to one, you already know - this isn’t a pit stop, it’s a destination.
The new location is expected to open in March 2027, giving Georgians just enough time to emotionally prepare (and clear out some trunk space).
Beyond snacks and souvenirs, the impact on the local community is expected to be significant. Buc-ee’s locations are known for bringing hundreds of jobs with competitive pay and benefits, making them a major economic boost for the areas they land in.
And Forsyth is no exception.
Local leaders and development officials were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony, signaling strong support for a project that’s expected to draw visitors from across the region.
For those keeping score, Buc-ee’s already operates Georgia locations in Brunswick, Adairsville, and Fort Valley - each one becoming a go-to stop for travelers and a point of pride for locals.
So, what does this mean for Braselton?
While we may not (yet) have a beaver planting roots in our backyard, the Forsyth location will sit roughly an hour away – almost close enough for a spontaneous snack run, a weekend detour, or a “we just felt like going” kind of trip.
Because if there’s one thing Buc-ee’s has mastered, it’s turning a simple gas stop into a full-blown outing.
And who knows, after all the excitement last week, maybe the Braselton area just put itself on Buc-ee’s radar after all. Okay, probably not, but area of I-85 dream! |
