Let's Make Downtown Braselton a Destination for Arts & Culture |
Could downtown Braselton become a destination for music, theater, comedy, and art? Discover why supporting local events is key to making it happen. |

Imagine a Friday evening in downtown Braselton. Maybe there's a jazz band performing, a comedy show at the Civic Center, or a small art exhibition featuring local artists. The following weekend might bring a theatrical performance, a blues concert, or something completely unexpected. Sounds pretty great, doesn't it? We already have so much of what makes downtown Braselton special. The small-town charm, locally owned restaurants, interesting shops, and beautiful gathering spaces. But what if we took it a step further? What if downtown Braselton became known as a destination for arts, culture, and entertainment? More Than Just Another Night Out Think about the possibilities. Live music featuring everything from country and rock to jazz, blues, and classical performances. Comedy nights, dinner theaters, cabaret shows, art exhibitions, and cultural experiences that appeal to different ages and interests. Not every event needs to be a large festival or draw thousands of people. Sometimes a smaller, more intimate experience is exactly what makes a night memorable. And wouldn't it be nice to have more of those options right here in Braselton? No driving into Atlanta. No expensive parking. Just great entertainment close to home. A Perfect Example Is Coming to Braselton On Friday, October 30, Leather & Lace Events is presenting The Wicked, a cabaret-style dinner theater experience at the Braselton Civic Center. It's the kind of event that shows what's possible when local creativity meets a great venue. Guests will enjoy a chef-crafted dinner prepared by Leather & Lace Catering, along with a live theatrical performance by the Leather & Lace Stars featuring a story about the misunderstood and the people we choose to label as villains. Parking is free and convenient and the Braselton Trolley can drop guests right in front of the Civic Center. It's exactly the kind of experience we'd love to see more often. Let's Talk About Keeping It Local There's been plenty of conversation lately about Braselton's growth and whether too much attention is being given to corporate business instead of local ones. It's a conversation worth having. But here's something to consider. The Wicked isn't a corporate production. It's a locally created event, brought to life by people who are investing their own time, talent, and resources into offering something different in Braselton. This is exactly the kind of local creativity we should be excited to support. We often talk about wanting more locally owned businesses, more unique experiences, and more reasons to spend time downtown. Well, here's an opportunity to support exactly that. Here's the Part We All Play There's something important we need to remember when talking about bringing more arts and cultural experiences to our community. These events need an audience. Organizers, performers, chefs, artists, and creative entrepreneurs put an enormous amount of time, effort, and financial resources into creating something special. But they can't continue bringing new ideas to Braselton without community support. When we purchase tickets, invite friends, share events, and actually show up, we're doing more than enjoying a night out. We're showing that there's a demand for these experiences. And that matters. The Wicked is one example. And hopefully, it won't be the last because every successful event sends a message: Braselton is a place where creativity, entertainment, and culture can thrive. Now let's help create the demand. Tickets for The Wicked are pre-purchased only and will not be sold at the door. Grab your tickets NOW before they sell out! |
